Modern Baskets Quilt Pattern

Riley Blake Cotton Solids

A few weeks ago I was given this fun bundle of solids by the folks at Riley Blake Designs, who asked if I would make a quilt for their display at Quilt Market. I just love a pretty bundle of solids in color spectrum order…

And Voila! The finished quilt! (and me, practicing my Vanna White skills…) I decided to resurrect an old favorite pattern that I created about 10 years ago. I’d never done it in all solids and thought it would be fun to give it a go. (You can see my previous incarnations here and here.)

In honor of the occasion, I’m releasing the pattern for this Modern Basket block  for free! You can get the pattern in my Craftsy Shop here.

Here are a few more of the quilts made with Confetti Cottons. I love that giant vintage rose quilt made by Trish Poolson and will be available soon as a pattern.

On the left is the super cool SawDash quilt by Marion McClellan using her Sawdash quilt tutorial. The colored pencil quilt on the right was made by Kelli Fanin and was a total show-stopper! I’m sharing pictures of a few others on the Riley Blake Blog.

A big shout out to Melissa of Sew Shabby Quilting for helping me to get this one finished (by the skin of my teeth) before Quilt Market!

Your pattern is a perfect showcase for those solids. Or should I say those solids are a perfect showcase for your pattern? I got a chuckle when I looked at your previous incarnations; you’re the only other person (than myself) who admits to working in “color periods.”

I love every one of those solids quilts! I think I have entered my solids stage; I have 2 all solids quilts underway and more planned. Thanks for those Market photos — I hadn’t seen some of those quilts.
