I've had fun working on some projects behind the scenes that I'll be sharing throughout this month. One of them is this cute little mini quilt I made using a pattern from the brand new book, Perfectly Pretty Patchwork*. This book has so many vintage-inspired patchwork patterns and projects including pillows, pincushions, and pouches as well.

Perfectly Pretty Patchwork was created and written by Kristyne Czepuryk - the inspiration behind the account Pretty By Hand. I've always been inspired by Kristyne's vintage-inspired patchwork style and stunning attention to detail. So when she asked if I'd like to preview her new book, I jumped at the chance.
There are SO many pretty patterns in this book. Here are a few of them:
Irish Chain - a clever use of this classic design for a whole new look.
Checkerboard
Patchwork Zipper Pouch
Mill and Stars
I choose to play with the Mill and Stars pattern. I've always loved this classic block, but had never made it before.
This pattern required some good old-fashioned template tracing and cutting, but I enjoyed the slower process for the vintage-looking finished result.
I had fun pulling out some of my favorite 'vintage-inspired' prints and piecing together a scrappy little mini quit to hand on my sewing room wall. (It was fun to mix in a bunch of my own Gretel and Sugarhouse fabrics to this one. 🙂 )
The pattern for these four-pointed star blocks comes in multiple sizes - two different sizes for the quilt, as well as two additional sizes that can be made into these sweet little pincushions.
To see lots of other projects from this book by various makers, check out the #PerfectlyPrettyPatchworkBook hashtag on Instagram for lots of inspiring ideas.
Perfectly Pretty Patchwork is available now - hopefully at your favorite local quilt shop. It's also available on Amazon. If you love classic, vintage-inspired patchwork quilts and projects this book is for you.

Very pretty. I love the idea of the pink quilt she did in lots of shades of pink, I would replicate this with lots of aqua prints. x

I picked up a copy of this book last week at my local JoAnns. So many inspiring ideas. I absolutely love how your mini quilt turned out. This is the same pattern I have been thinking about doing with my old printed and plain feed sack fabrics.
