It often feels like quilting time is a little more scarce in the summer. So I love finding quick summer projects like mini quilt patterns to get still get my quilting fix, but not feel like I need to commit to something big. The Summer 2021 issue of Quilts & More magazine is full of lots of perfect projects for some summer sewing mojo.
I was invited to contribute a project for this issue and I'm sharing this super slick patchwork star mini quilt called Brilliantly Made (because there's some great short-cut work involved in making this one!)
This version of Brilliantly Made was created using my Notting Hill fabric collection. Perfect for spring and summer sewing.
And here's a modern variation of the same pattern in a more subtle blue and gray color palette with Riley Blake's gray Blossom on white basic as the background. (It's one of my favorite go-to quilt backgrounds.)
The Summer 2021 issue of Quilts & More magazine is available on news stands wherever Better Homes and Gardens magazines are sold. And there are so many other cute projects in this issue from designers like Gigi's Thimble, the pineapple pillow pattern is from Polkadot Chair, and a cute red, white, and blue table runner from Cluck, Cluck Sew.
I also did an interview with American Patchwork and Quilting a few weeks ago where we talked a little bit about this project (and a bunch of other quilty things). You can find me in episode 508 here.
More Notting Hill Mini Quilts
And finally, speaking of summer-y mini quilts, guess what I received in my mail box yesterday! These darling Summer Fruit quilted mini quilt/mug-rugs made by Amy Chappell of Ameroonie Designs - also using Notting Hill fabric.
I love them! You can find the Summer Fruit mini quilt collection pattern in Amy's Etsy Shop.
