Did you know that March is National Quilting Month? Well, any official excuse to make more time for quilting in my life, and naturally I'm all in. In honor of this celebration I've teamed up with Missouri Star Quilt Company to share a few new notions and tools I got from MSQC and to share a generous discount with all of you! In this post I'll be reviewing the Creative Grids XL Stripology Ruler.
After hearing lots of good things about them, I've had my eye on the Stripology Rulers from Creative Grids for a while now. Missouri Star generously sent me the Creative Grids XL Stripology Ruler to test out for myself. And let me tell you, it lived up to expectations!
Here's a little bit about how this versatile took works. The Stripology XL quilting ruler is designed to streamline the process of cutting fabric for quilting projects. It features a clear acrylic design with precise markings, making it easy to accurately measure and cut fabric strips as well as square-up quilt blocks or fussy-cut fabric.
The ruler includes slits every ½", allowing quilters to cut multiple strips without having to move the ruler, saving time and ensuring consistency in strip width.
Its large size (22.5" x 22.5") accommodates bigger fabric pieces, reducing the need for frequent repositioning during cutting.
I cut a variety of strip sizes from a piece of yardage.
Gudrun Erla - designer of the Stripology Rulers has a brief video here demonstrating how this ruler works.
Not only did I cut strips the width of fabric, but I also used the ruler to sub-cut my strips into 2 ½" squares without having to reposition the ruler once.
Use the straight horizontal lines on your cutting mat to carefully line up your pre-cut strips. Then line up the horizontal lines on the ruler with your cut edges.
Much more accurate pieces and so much time saved!
With its innovative design, the Stripology XL ruler is a valuable addition to any quilter's toolkit, enabling efficient and precise cutting for quilting projects of all sizes.
If you're interested in investing in one for yourself, now is a great time when you can get it for 20% off from Missouri Star during National Quilting Month!
