Greetings fellow-quilt-lovers. And Happy National Quilting Month! It's been a while since I've done an update on what's on my sewing table. Mainly because, while there have been many piles accumulating, there hasn't been too much action going on.
I ended up with a pretty crummy bug that knocked me out for almost 2 weeks. Blah. But over the last couple of days, I've been back in action, putting the sewing machine pedal to the metal trying to catch up on so many things: including a new pattern release next week (March 9!) and a new fabric collection release the week after that!
Here's a taste of what's going on. The quilt on my design wall is a variation of my new pattern (coming next week!) called Cascade Falls. I designed this quilt to go with my new fabric collection, Albion, but wanted to make another variation in solids. It's turning out pretty cool! Going to finish and and get it off to the quilter this weekend.
This week I received the advanced yardage of my Albion fabric! I just have a few small pieces right now, but it means that the bolts are on their way across the ocean as we speak. It's always a little nerve wracking to get the final strike-off's from the factory and hope they turned out the right shades, etc that they were in my head.
I'm so excited seeing it all come together! It's a year+ process from design concept to finished product. Time to get stitching! And I can't wait to see what you all make with it!
Also on my design table - a new collection this spring from Minki Kim called BloomBerry. I have a baby quilt in mind for this cute bundle. And some cute zipper pouches!
This collection will arrive in stores in April. So much fabric, so little time!
I'm so grateful to finally have the motivation and energy to get back to my sewing machine. Here's a look at what I've been working on in the mean-time while I've been couch-bound.
I started on the Ingrid's Wildflowers embroidery from Missouri Star Quilt co. The original Ingrid's Wildflower kits sold out super fast, but there is already a pre-order for the next shipment. (And you can get the preorder 20% off with my affiliate link.)
Here's a view of my other recent couch project. I've been especially enjoying cross-stitch the past few years. Something about it feels simple and soothing.
I started this project last fall when I had C*v*d. I needed something that didn't take a lot of effort or brain-juice. Same with this past month. I got the Quaker Sampler-inspired pattern on Etsy. I love how the design is broken up into the smaller squares. Makes each unit it's own little project. I decided to make mine monochromatic - working with only 3 colors. Again with the simplification. It's been a good one.
Happy March, everyone! Take advantage of the National-Quilting-Month designation as an excuse to sew more. 😉

I love your quilt on the wall and your fabric line! I had to look at the esty link and think I’ll be making a purchase of that as well! Wish there was more time in the day and more $$ to buy all of the pretty things!

I used your 15% off link to get the Ingrid's Wildflowers kit for my daughter; thanks very much. She'll do the embroidery and I'll make the quilt. I'm also working on a huge monochromatic cross-stitch design from Long Dog Samplers. FYI, your first block on the middle row has an HST turned the wrong way. Very pretty colors.

Can’t wait for Albion to be released! Love your work, Amy! ❤️

Just got over a horrible brochitis that lasted for a very long time. Hope you feel better soon. I am a big fan of your work. It is so inspiring! sinc Linda S
Amy
Thank you, Linda! So glad to hear that you are feeling better too!
Ann
Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I just requested a notification when the Albion Collection comes out. I’m also interested in where to find the beautiful fabrics you’re using in the solids version of your new quilt pattern. Will that be available soon as well?
Amy
Yes! I'll make a list of the solids that I used when I share the finished quilt next week.

I love the Monochromatic cross stitch. I can’t wait to see both the new pattern and the new fabric. I am excited for me but more e cited for you. You are brilliant. Congratulations.
Cindi
Beautiful embroidery work! You are tempting me to break out the floss and hoops, when I'm trying to focus on learning to quilt. Too many projects, too little time 😉

I think you’ve gotten more done sick in bed than I’ve done in a month! Love your sampler and I can’t wait for Albion!

Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather. Glad things are looking up and your creativity kept you going. Will the pinks and blues of Albion blend with Portsmouth?
Amy
Yes! They do blend! 🙂
