It’s week #8 of the 2021 Riley Blake Quilt Block Challenge. This week’s block is a free Butterfly quilt block is designed by Elea Lutz. It’s simple and quick quilt block to assemble.

If you’re new to the Riley Blake Quilt Block challenge, here’s the scoop: For the first half of the year, 3 new free downloadable quilt block patterns are released each month – 1 each Tuesday on the first 3 weeks of the month. (The 4th week is a catch-up week.)
Here are the 8 blocks I’ve made from the patterns released so far. You can find all 8 block patterns HERE. These blocks are 10″ x 10″ finished (10 ½″ x 10 ½″ unfinished).
For my blocks I’m using the red, white, and blue prints from my Notting Hill fabric collection paired with an assortment of Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in Cloud, Songbird, Tearose, Redwood, and Oxford Blue.
