Meet my Next Sugarhouse Park Fabric Collection

This weekend I am attending the International Quilt Market trade show and I'm so excited to be introducing my 4th fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs:

Meet Sugarhouse Park Fabric Collection, coming October 2019.

Sugarhouse Park is a historic spot in my hometown and in my memory. It was the site of picnics with friends, fireworks on the 4th of July, family reunions, and high school dates with cute boys. There is a pond for feeding ducks in the summer and the best hill for sledding in the winter. I loved taking my sandals off to wade in the creek with cousins and learning how to pump my legs to make my swing go higher before I eventually got the courage to jump off!

This collection is full of more vintage-inspired prints in cheerful primary colors and pairs perfectly with the Riley Blake Woven Gingham basics in red, navy, green, with the addition of peacock (aqua).

In addition to the Sugarhouse Park fabric collection, I'll also have three new quilt patterns coming up! Here's a little teaser of a new variation on the popular Patchwork Forest quilt.

This is another collection inspired by happy memories and childhood nostalgia. I'm excited to use this collection to create new quilts for picnics and fireworks in the park, or to snuggle under with a cup of cocoa following an afternoon of sledding. I hope it will inspire some creative nostalgia for you too!

As I mentioned, Sugarhouse Park fabric collection will not be in stores until October 2019 and I'll have lots more details and inspiration + new patterns! - to share with you all this fall.

Such a pretty collection. How fun to be able to commemorate childhood memories this way. Look forward to seeing this in person in the fall. Good luck with it.

The greens you chose are wonderful! They are simply perfect complements to each of the other colors in your collection, and are not "ordinary" or typical greens at all. They are the kind of basics that usually go unnoticed or unsung but can make so much difference, I think. I love this new collection and can't wait to start quilting with it--your buttery yellows, deep navys, sky blues, and true reds are right up my alley, and those greens have sold me on this, all the way!

I love your new collection, particularly the addition of the soft green. I live near Sugarhouse Park here in the Salt Lake Valley, and I think your collection is a great reflection of its beauty. I too have great memories (albeit from my adulthood) from the park. Oh, and I’ve already got a project in mind for these fabrics!

We had just moved to Sandy, Utah when I had my third baby. I had a four year old and a not quite two year old. I would work hard to get the house cleaned up, vacuumed, and dusted. Then we would head into Salt Lake for Sugarhouse Park to play and frolic. I love the colors and designs of this new line, especially the plaid with the green and aqua. You've done a terrific job!
