    Quilt Block Challenge Patterns

Last Modified: February 16, 2022 by Amy · This post may contain affiliate links · This blog generates income via ads · Leave a Comment

Spent some time today catching up on making my quilt blocks for the 2022 Riley Blake Quilt Block Challenge sewing with some every-lovely Liberty of London prints.

Here are the finished blocks #5 and #6. If you’ve missed my earlier blocks you can see January’s blocks 1-3 here and the first block of February (Block #4) here.

Here is block #5. This block was designed by Christopher Thompson and is called Sundial. You can see other variations, find the free pattern plus a video tutorial for the block here.

As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m using Liberty of London floral prints combined with Confetti Cotton solids for all of my blocks. For this block the main floral I used is from Annabelle and Spotty Dotty both from the Artist’s Home collection. The Confetti Cotton solids are Brussel Sprout (dark green), Caribbean, and Tea Rose.

Block 6 is a scrappy Churn Dash variation designed by Sandy Gervais. You can find the printable pattern + video tutorial here as well as see other fabric combinations for this block

The prints used in this block are from the brand new Flower Show Midnight Garden collection. I’m using Confetti Cotton in Cloud for all of the solid white backgrounds.

If you’re looking for all of the block patterns, fabric requirements and other information for the 2022 Quilt Block Challenge click here. A new 10″ x 10″ block is released every Tuesdays except the last Tuesday of every month. That last Tuesday is a chance to catch up. 😉

After all of the blocks have been released Riley Blake will release a pattern for the finished layout.

It’s definitely not too late to sew along if you like. Or maybe you’ll want to make a quilt by repeating just your favorite block. So many options!
